Transportation Management/ Operations

Coordinate transportation of detainees as directed by ICE, in a timely manner; ensure all detainees are delivered to proper destinations.

Ensure Transport Supervisors/ Officers perform transport duties per PBNDS.

Ensure all detainee transports are documented and that documentation is retained in the Transport Office with a cope provided to COR via PM (if required).

Plotting appropriate routes to transport destinations.

Ensure routine maintenance and vehicle service is conducted as scheduled.

Document maintenance and service.

Ensure any safety related transportation issue is addressed immediately and that any vehicle with a safety issue is removed from service until repairs are completed.

Ensure all required equipment for detention transport is loaded in vehicles or kept in vehicles prior to transport; such items include first aid kit, accident investigation kit, proof of insurance, safety flares, restraint equipment, etc. (See transportation Detention Standard for complete list.)

Act as dispatcher; ensure appropriate number of officers are onboard each transport and present for each shift.

Ensure, through supervisors, that transport officers are onboard to hospital duties and relieves upon shift change.

Monitor driver’s license program, ensuring all drivers complete any DOT required examinations and licenses are renewed in timely manner.

Provide, through supervisors, a credit card, cell phone, and verify through supervisors that the Transport Officers are carrying their driver’s license, medical certificate and weapons permits prior to departure and receiving items back after transports are completed.

Ensure compliance with US DOT and TXDOT regulations for driver physicals, annual tests, random drug screens, and driver documentation in accordance with the Transport Manual.

Ensure trip logs and vehicle inspection logs are completed by all drivers.

Forward receipts for fuel to the PM for forwarding to the Corporate Office.

Prepare excel payroll spreadsheet for Transport Officers; forward Asset Corporate Office each Monday by 1200.

Attend EPSPC Management Meetings as requested by the PM.

Ensure Asset Transportation Officers complete all required annual training to maintain their qualifications and licenses.

Coordinate with EPSPC Training Manager for quarterly firearms qualifications; inform Asset Corporate Office when ammunition, targets, and firearms cleaning materials need to be replenished.

Conduct spot inspections of firearms logs (approximately 2-3 times per week).

Order replacement uniforms when necessary for Asset Transport Officers and Detention Officers.

Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries related to transportation function; file reports with PM.

Current ICE Background clearance

3 years experience Transportation of Detention supervisor or 3 years Managerial experience or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from accredited university.

Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Computer skills including proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point. Organizational skills commensurate with position.

Candidate will not be considered if they have any disciplinary’s in the last 12 months (October 2020 – August 2021)
