Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Strategy and Design, the LYVE Mobile Lead Systems Admin will be a key member of the product and services team. Systems management and configuration is extremely important to us and protecting our customers’ data is critical. We are looking for someone that is passionate about deploying systems (physical and virtual), installing, configuring, hardening operating systems, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing various optimizations. Someone who likes to break things to make them better. It’s not about being a systems administrator, it’s also about contributing to the overall direction of the products and services. Telling us how we could do it better. We are a new team with a new line of products and need your help deploying and securing them.

About the role – you will:

In this role, your primary job responsibilities will include:

In this role, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and verifying the systems that run our next generation services of LYVE Mobile and its products.
Help design and build a Monitoring dashboard, and then use that dashboard to monitor service health and performance, etc.
Provide input on how to improve management and security for existing and future products and services. Inform Management about trade-offs related to certain functionality vs the risks.
Coordinate information regarding change and incident management processes.
Assist with installation of server equipment in new locations and datacenters.
Setup an Operations Center/ Dashboard.
Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, lead exercises, and coordinate responsible disclosures.
Help coordinate business continuity planning for LYVE Mobile services across multiple geographies.
Break stuff to help our developers and partners to remediate vulnerabilities in applications and cloud infrastructure.
Check and enforce compliance with applicable regulatory and industry systems, licensing, and security standards.
Administrating and life-cycle management of a large multi-tenant environment.
Maintains the integrity and security of systems, while also maintaining system documentation and architecture.
As required, virtually supports users (other engineers, app developers, etc.) with completing requests for deployment of new services or addressing current service interruption.
Maintains system documentation.
Patching of servers and systems.
Supports and develops related automation.
Build Servers, STIG and patch vulnerabilities in Cloud environment.
Program in an administrative language such as Bash, PowerShell, Python.
Develops and implements testing strategies and documents results.
Partnering with Cloud Engineering, Data Systems, and DevOps, you will be a critical decision-maker in driving continuous technology improvements and enhancements within our environment.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues across our entire technology stack.
Play a critical role in the administration, security, and automation of our robust cloud infrastructure.
Help develop and evolve processes to improve the effectiveness of internal systems and workflows through scripting & automation

About you:

BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+years of experience (degrees in Computer Science, Engineering or related area is preferred.
Believe in life-long learning and think Linux might be OK.
Excellent troubleshooting methodology, agnostic to tech stack.
Experience in common software development methodologies (Agile, Kanban, etc.)
Familiarity with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment frameworks, such as Jenkins.
Track record of collaborating with multiple cross-discipline engineering teams.
Experience creating strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners.

Your experience includes:

Experience with building servers and patching vulnerabilities in in multi-cloud environment
A strong understanding of business processes and expertise in managing operations following the ITIL processes
A track record of one or more jobs within in information technology and systems administration
Experience in Linux, K8, VMWare, Windows, Storage, SAN, performance management
Excellent communication and presentation capabilities combined with ability to explain complex systems concepts and to influence stakeholders
Excellent cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills that can quickly bring together Product Management, Engineering and Operations to execute against security goals
Ability to succeed in a fast paced, high growth environment

Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
