We’re looking for an experienced Safety Manager to join our team. You’ll take ownership of the traffic accident situations and work closely with the relevant departments to take action.

Key roles and responsibilities

You will:
Provide the management of the crisis (traffic accident) situations

Evaluate the collected information and take action

Interpret accident data to report and develop actions to be taken

Ensure that other departments are informed and directed about field security within the company

Ensure that its employees adopt the vision, mission, strategy and goals of the company, and take an active role in the necessary dissemination and awareness-raising activities

Make observations, audits and evaluations, and ensure that necessary measures are taken in order to increase the corporate commitment, motivation and performance of the employees and to ensure that the work discipline is carried out in accordance with the standards, plans, programs and expectations

Ensure the task distribution of the employees in line with the company targets and department plans, the creation of task profiles and updating them when necessary

Determine the periodic targets of the department employees, constantly monitoring their performance, providing guiding feedback and periodically performing official performance evaluations

Evaluate, control, approve and ensure the implementation of the work programs, demands and expectations of its subordinate units

Provide two-way communication (management decisions, communication of new or changed policies and procedures to the department, communication of department studies to the Board of Management, etc.) between management and department employees

Oversee employees’ personal rights, performance, career planning, incentives, bonuses, rewards, penalties

Ensure that the workflow is carried out in accordance with the legislation and company procedures

Make performance evaluations of subordinate executives

Give the necessary approvals regarding the personnel affairs

Control personnel and department expenses (tools/equipment, mobile phone, etc).

Support the development and training of subordinate personnel

Requirements

Ideally, you have:
A Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business Administration, Economy or relevant subjects – and completed Statistics 101 or Maths 101 courses

10+ years of proven business and people management experience gained in fast-growing companies

Experience managing field courier operations, handling motorcycle related safety issues and familiarity with franchise operations is a plus

Numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail

Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel

A startup attitude, rolling up your sleeves and getting things done in a non-corporate, pragmatic way

The ability to take ownership and responsibility, proactively seek out solutions and opportunities to improve

Adaptability and flexibility in how you support the team and the needs of the business

Superb organisation skills. You’re process driven, great at solving problems and you make decisions with confidence

Speed and efficiency in all tasks to support the team (speed is our currency at Getir)

Teamwork and strong communication skills. This includes mad zoom skills! You’re human and engaging both on screen and off screen (as it were)

Willingness to travel, i.e. no obstacles for travelling within the UK
