Payroll Administrator (Hybrid)

The Payroll Administrator is based in Markham, Ontario with work from home ability and typically reports directly to the Payroll Manager. Their primary focus is performing tasks and responsibilities related to processing hourly (unionized) payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accurate and timely data entry and processing of weekly timesheets

Setting up new employees, handling terminations and ROEs using HRDC WebROE

Processing of payroll payments via direct deposit and/or cheques

Respond to payroll inquiries from employees

Annual preparation of T4s

Ability to work with the unions

Interpret and update burden tables from union wage schedules, and monthly union payment reconciliation

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Completed PCP or is enrolled in a NPI program

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A combination of work experience, with unionized payroll exposure, and education. Working towards PCP or is enrolled in a NPI program – New Graduates Welcome!

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and understanding of:
Microsoft Excel – intermediate including vlookup, pivot tables etc

JD Edwards or ERP system in-house usage

Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
